Meet the artist
Matty is an ink and watercolour illustrator originally from Cumbria now living near Leeds in Yorkshire; so he feels at home in both the Lake District and the Dales. These beautiful local landscapes are a significant inspiration for him, however he also loves visiting (and illustrating) less familiar areas such as the incredible Northumbrian castles or the lochside cottages of the Highlands.
Every illustration in our collections begins with Matty's original artwork, carefully drawn and composed by hand, ready for you to bring to life with watercolour.
Our Story
We’re Matty and Tom, two brothers based in the North of England. Together, we’ve combined our two crafts - art and printing - to create something we couldn’t find anywhere else: beautifully illustrated watercolour colouring books featuring original artwork, professionally printed on premium watercolour paper. Every page begins as a real piece of artwork, inspired by real places and created by hand.
Finding Inspiration
Whether exploring the countryside, visiting a new village, or simply walking the dogs, Matty is always looking for scenes that capture a sense of place. A winding lane, an old stone cottage, a glimpse of sunlight through the trees - often it's the small details that spark an idea.
He photographs locations, fills sketchbooks with notes and rough drawings, and pays close attention to the things that photographs alone can miss: the atmosphere, the shadows, the changing light and the feeling of being there.
Back in the studio, these observations become the starting point for a new watercolour design.
Creating the Artwork
Using his sketches and reference photographs, Matty develops each composition by hand.
Sometimes elements are adjusted or rearranged to create a stronger image while still capturing the character of the original location. Once the composition is complete, the artwork is carefully inked and refined, with every detail considered.
The finished illustration is then professionally prepared for print and reproduced on luxurious 280gsm watercolour paper, chosen specifically for its ability to handle watercolour beautifully.

Each book contains twelve original illustrations connected by a shared theme.
From country cottages and enchanting villages to peaceful coastlines and countryside escapes, every collection has been carefully curated to create a relaxing and enjoyable painting experience.
